This notice explains how 52 South Cafe & Restaurant uses information submitted through this website.
Information we collect
When you request a table, contact us or join 52 South Rewards, we may receive your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, booking details, dietary requirements, membership consent and any comments you provide.
How we use it
We use this information to respond to you, manage bookings and memberships, provide restaurant services, send member news and offers where you have consented, prevent misuse of our forms and maintain necessary business records.
Booking, membership and rewards processing
Website forms are processed through a business-owned Google Apps Script service. Accepted booking, membership and prize records are stored in private Google Sheets available only to authorised 52 South personnel. Notifications and customer acknowledgements are sent through the business Google account. Do not include payment-card details or other unnecessary sensitive information in any form.
Welcome Wheel security
For eligible members, we use membership identity details to issue private Welcome Wheel invitations, enforce the limit of two spins per member each week, generate private QR redemption tokens and record whether prizes were redeemed. Invitation and QR tokens are stored as one-way hashes. The QR contains no customer name, contact details or prize information. A staff PIN must be verified before the member name and prize are displayed, and repeated incorrect PIN attempts are temporarily limited. Personal details are not included in wheel URLs or analytics events. Date of birth is used to confirm age eligibility as well as administer membership benefits.
Analytics and advertising cookies
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits and actions such as menu views, booking requests, phone calls and online-ordering clicks. We may also use the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement. These optional services are not loaded unless you select “Accept analytics & ads”. TikTok measurement will remain disabled until a business-owned TikTok Pixel is configured, and it will use the same consent choice if enabled.
Cookie choices
You can continue with essential website features without optional analytics or advertising cookies. Use the “Cookie settings” button in the website footer at any time to review or change your choice.
Maps and directions
Our Contact page includes a Google map, and direction links open Google Maps. Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details and interaction with the map under Google's own privacy terms.
Sharing, access and retention
We do not sell your personal information. Booking and membership information is available only to authorised 52 South personnel and service providers needed to operate the website, booking and membership processes, or where required by law. We retain records only for as long as reasonably needed to provide these services, meet legal obligations and maintain necessary business records.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from member marketing at any time. You can also request access to or correction of information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it when we no longer need it.
